Vector and Wrap Announce Partnership to Support New DoW CUAS Guidance

Vector and Wrap Technologies

BLUFFDALE, UT – Today, in response to a recent announcement from the Department of War, Vector, a modern defense-as-a-service company, and Wrap Technologies, a global leader in non-lethal public safety and unmanned aerial system (UAS) solutions, announced their partnership to support counter-drone operations following newly-issued guidance from the Department of War’s Joint Inter-Agency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401).

The updated guidance expands commanders’ authority to detect and mitigate unauthorized unmanned systems, reflecting the growing challenges that inexpensive, weaponizable drones may pose to  military installations, critical infrastructure, and public safety operations.

Vector and Wrap’s partnership is focused on providing military and interagency partners with rapidly deployable, operationally-ready defenses against hostile and unauthorized drones both today and as the threat evolves. Wrap’s Non-Lethal Response (NLR) framework and interdiction technologies are integrated into Vector’s field-tested, cost-effective UAS capabilities and its defense-as-a-service model, reinforcing the companies joint commitment to proportional, defensible decision-making under uncertainty.

“We are doubling our efforts to deliver reliable, advanced, and affordable CUAS capabilities across mission sets, from forward-deployed military operations to domestic security and critical infrastructure protection,” said Andy Yakulis, CEO and Co-Founder of Vector. “This partnership between Vector and Wrap is going to allow us to better deliver scalable production capabilities that align the Department of War’s demand for speed, flexibility, and proportional response.”

In November, Vector and Wrap pulled off the first known air-to-air drone interdiction using Vector’s Hammer platform equipped with Wrap’s Merlin™-Interdictor payload and BolaWrap® tether, which safely neutralized a moving aerial target. Merlin™, WRAP’s non-lethal counter-UAS capability, is a non-kinetic end-effector that safely intercepts unauthorized drones and complements detect-and-track systems, particularly in complex or restricted conditions. The demonstration was conducted in an environment that validated the integrated system’s effectiveness in real-world operational scenarios where safety, precision, and proportionality are paramount. “Merlin was purpose-built to give operators a non-lethal option to physically intercept drones in complex environments, consistent with WRAP’s Non-Lethal Response approach—prioritizing control, proportionality, and better outcomes when decisions must be made fast and consequences matter,” said Mike Brown, VP of Products at WRAP.

Extending this commitment across the full spectrum of unmanned systems, Vector is also scaling to support the Pentagon’s Drone Dominance Program, manufacturing operationally relevant drone capabilities with secure and compliant supply chains designed for the demands and scope of sustained conflict.
