Highlights

• Atmospherics: Ukraine’s resistance continues. Fighting on the eastern and southern front lines
  remains bloody and brutal, and Russia maintains its campaign of missile and drone
  strikes against critical infrastructure and civilian areas nationwide. Morale among
  Ukraine’s civilians and soldiers is unbroken, but there are stress fractures. Most
  notably, new mobilization laws have had a chilling effect on society.
• Emerging Tech: Small- and medium-sized drone developments are addressing two main obstacles:
  • Divorcing drone operators from their electromagnetic emissions to increase
    survivability. “Don’t emit where you sit.”
  • Finding solutions to Russian EW as well as fratricidal losses from Ukrainian
    EW.
• Battlefield Trends: Ukrainian soldiers report a typical cadence on the front lines when both sides pause drone operations at dawn and dusk to swap out drones equipped with either daytime
  or nighttime cameras. More versatile cameras that can optimally operate during day
  and night could be useful to avoid operational interruptions.
