Highlights

• Atmospherics: Ukraine’s drone warfare revolution flies in the face of America’s way of waging war. Rather than focusing on expensive, cure-all platforms, Ukrainians generate products
  that are akin to a ball of clay that can be continuously remolded to match battlefield
  realities. The guiding intent of many drone start-ups, as well as the soldiers who
  enterprise solutions while on the front lines, is to generate platforms that can be
  updated at the proverbial speed of war — matching the Russians’ iterative
  advancements in doctrine and technology.
• Emerging Tech:
  • Ukrainians are developing tethered drones, certification processes that is required for government contracts
  • The proliferation of expensive drones and EW systems is the siloing of Ukrainian military units along the front line
  • Fratricidal EW losses still plague Ukrainian units. However, they are slowly making headway to reduce the problem.
• Battlefield Trends: Last year, drones were effectively a work-around...a stop-gap solution that both sides leaned on to account for their deficiencies in other, more traditional warfighting
  modes such as artillery and airpower.
